Detlev Ganten

Scientific Advisory Council member, President of the World Summit on Health, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Charite Foundation”, University Hospitals of Berlin and the Medical Faculty

Born on March 28, 1941 - in Lüneburg, Germany.

In 1959, he completed training courses for agricultural agents.

From 1962 to 1964, he studied medicine in Würzburg.

From 1964 to 1965, he continued his medical education in Montpellier (France), after graduation from the institute he went to practice in Morocco.

From 1966 to 1968, he continued to study medicine in Tübingen, and passed the state examination to become a doctor.

From 1969 to 1973, he conducted clinical research work at the Institute of Montreal (Canada). In 1970, he obtained his license for practice as a doctor, and in 1973 a Science Degree from McGill University in Montreal.

From 1973 to 1991, he worked in the field of pharmacology at Heidelberg University and finished his education in 1974. In 1975, he also received the title of Professor in Heidelberg, and since 1978, he has been an expert in the field of pharmacology and clinical pharmacology.

In 1991, he became the founder and director of Delbruck Centre of Molecular Medicine (MDC).

In 1993, he became the Chair of Clinical Pharmacology in the Charite Berlin Hospital. Since February 15, 2004, he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of this hospital.
